¿Tu percibes qué hay falta de unidad en la comunidad latina? ¿Se puede deber a las diferencias de caracteres y puntos de vista de cada una de las comunidades latinoamericanas en Nueva Jersey?
Efectivamente, existe una carencia de unidad en la comunidad Latina de Estados Unidos, por muchos factores, pero uno en particular afecta directamente el comportamiento electoral de quienes participan en la vida política y cívica de este país que nos acoge. Ese factor, es la incidencia política latinoamericana, que influye en las elecciones locales y nacionales de Estado Unidos.
Mi hipótesis es que la política de nuestros países de origen trasciende las fronteras físicas y arrastra con ello un peso ideológico que marca profundas diferencias en las comunidades étnicas. Por ejemplo en lo local: Podemos citar la reciente elección presidencial en Perú de abril 2021, la cual polarizó a nuestros hermanos peruanos en el Estado de New Jersey. Por un lado, un grupo apoyó al actual Presidente, elegido democráticamente, Pedro Castillo, mientras que el otro grupo apoyó a su rival Keiko Fujimori. De la misma manera, podemos apreciar que este comportamiento, de los dos grupos polarizados, se repite cuando se trata de apoyar a candidatos demócratas locales, este primer grupo apoya a demócratas y por consiguiente el grupo contrario apoya a los candidatos republicanos por inercia, creando así diferencias irreconciliables.
Ahora a nivel nacional, el más claro ejemplo es el influjo de la situación actual de Venezuela y la recurrente situación de Cuba que impacta directamente a los cubanos, la política de estos países afecta la decisión de su voto y por ende de la unidad Latinoamericana en Estados Unidos debido a las diferencias ideológicas.
Si a esto le agregamos el factor de nuevas tecnologías y el fácil acceso a la noticias en nuestro móviles, podemos ver con certeza una fórmula de democratización de la información que cambia drásticamente la manera como percibimos la política de Latinoamérica y estadounidense a la vez. Ya no podemos estar alejados de la nueva realidad de globalización política y sus efectos colaterales.
